The Maths Olympiads Program

  • To stimulate enthusiasm and a love for Mathematics
  • To introduce important Mathematical concepts
  • To teach major strategies for problem solving
  • To develop Mathematical flexibility in solving problems

  • To foster Mathematical creativity and ingenuity
  • To provide for the satisfaction, joy, and thrill of meeting challenges

From year 2008 onwards, SASMO will be adopting a new 2 contest structure instead of the old 5 contest structure. The contests dates are April 1st and April 29th respectively. This ensures that the results will be ready and released by May 15, enabling Primary 6 students who win our awards to use the results to apply for Direct Schools Admission(DSA) to the top secondary schools. No travelling is required for the contests as SASMO had worked with the participating primary schools to conduct the contests in every schools.

SASMO will also be conducting Mathematics Olympiad Workshops to stimulate students' enthusiasm and love for Mathematics and at the same time prepare them for future Mathematics Olympiad contests. It is not compulsory to attend one of these workshops but you are highly encouraged to do so.

The different workshops available are:
